Zahle Unites: Rotary and Lions Clubs Forge Partnerships for Community Progress

The Rotary Club of Zahlé-Békaa extended an invitation to colleagues from the Lions and Rotary clubs in Zahle and Bekaa region, endorsed by the President of Rotary International, Mr. Gordon McInally, and the President of Lions Club International, Dr. Patty Hill. They invited all international members of these clubs to join forces globally, aiming to celebrate together and establish a meaningful partnership, with the shared goal of uplifting the status of humanity within their respective societies and countries.

The meeting, held on the evening of September 11, 2023, at the Kadri Grand Hotel in Zahle, featured the participation of active Rotary and Lions clubs in the Zahle and Bekaa communities. During the gathering, attendees discussed the invitation’s contents and enthusiastically embraced the prospective collaboration between the clubs. They emphasized the significance of this initiative and meeting, generating ideas for health, social, and environmental projects that would leave a lasting impact on the Zahle and Bekaa communities.

A follow-up committee was established, comprising Lions members: Eng. Michel Sayyah, Mrs. Hoda Risha Al-Houli, Mr. Hanna Khayyat, Mr. Walid Al-Fahal, and Rotarian members: AG Dr. Lebnan Abu Madi, RC Zahlé-Békaa President Kareen Sabbagh, RC Chtaura Bekaagate President Marwan Machaalani, PP Maroun Chabenne, RC Montreal Cedars President Maha Maalouf Kassouf, and His Excellency former MP Joseph Maalouf.

This committee will chart a vision for future steps and select the most suitable project to address the needs of the Zahle and Bekaa communities.
