DISTRICT GOVERNOR FOREWORD
Our District 2452, is a vibrant mosaic of cultures, languages, and traditions, and stands unique, not only in its diversity but in its unity. Covering over nine countries across three continents, speaking different languages, but unified by the spirit of Rotary. Inspired by the theme of the year, “The Magic of Rotary,” and guided by the visionary leadership of our President Stephanie, who sees the profound impact of our work as truly magical, I have aligned my vision to emphasize this engaging experience. My vision, summarized in the statement “The Magic of Tolerance and Diversity,” not only showcases the beauty and harmony of our beloved countries in our District but also resonates deeply with our core mission of promoting peace within Rotary. Tolerance is the value on which our Rotarian society is built and it’s an essential step in promoting peace – one of our area of Rotary action. As your District Governor this year, I promise to make tolerance the heart of everything we do. Together, we will create something truly magical – we will find magic in our unity and diversity, in our commitment to service, and in our shared pursuit of peace. Stephanie Urchick is the President of Rotary International for the 2024-25 Rotary year. With a professional background in higher education, consulting, and entertainment, she holds a doctorate in Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has been recognized by The Rotary Foundation and various community and international organizations.
A Rotary member since 1991, Stephanie has been involved in numerous international service projects, including National Immunization Days in India and Nigeria. She has served as an RI director and Rotary Foundation trustee.
Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick leads the 2024-25 year with the theme “The Magic of Rotary,” inspiring members to embrace Rotary’s power to save lives. She encourages members to support Rotary’s Action Plan, maintain balance between tradition and change, and work for peace.
As part of this vision, she will host a Presidential Peace Conference in 2025, focused on “Healing in a Divided World.”
Rotary Clubs all over the world help communities and people in other countries with projects that aim to provide sustainable ongoing development and help, not just immediate charity.
