Under the patronage of Rotary International District 2452 Governor Bashar Haddad, the Rotary Club of Amman Petra celebrated the opening of the Petra Children’s Club at the JOHUD Center in the town of Sheikh Hussein in the northern Jordan Valley on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Petra Children Club is one of Petra’s ongoing projects for the vulnerable kids in some of the poverty pockets in Jordan. The children’s clubs are nicely furnished with new furniture and equipped with toys, learning items, children’s stories, coloring books, and some entertainment items collected through donations by club members and their social network. The majority of the toys and books are used in excellent condition (recycled – environment-sensitive initiative).

Sheikh Hussein is Petra’s third club. They also have established clubs in Al Jofeh and Sweimeh areas. This is the second club in cooperation with JOHUD and thus ensures continuity in the maintenance and management of the club in accordance with the memorandum of understanding between the two parties
