District 2452 Mental Health Seminar was held, online, on Wednesday 24th April 2024, in the presence of District Governor Bashar Haddad, District Governor’s Aide for Learning Affairs Samar Saab, and moderated by District Learning Facilitator, PDG Jamil Mouawad.
The training session started with an introduction by Dr. Lara Ahmadieh, who is Lebanon’s Mental Health Country Chair.
The session focused on mental health related projects that took place this Rotary Year 2023-2024: We started with the Mental Health Awareness Mega Project, led by Rotary Club of Beirut Cadmos, along with 19 other Rotary Clubs. AG May Khodr summarised the project meticulously. The NGO Embrace was part of that mega project. It was represented by Miss Nour Beaini, who discussed the importance and implications of these essential awareness sessions.
PP Najla Chahda of Rotary Club of Baabda informed us of their club’s Global Grant related to a mental health project they have been working on for quite some time. They just the approval for it..
Last but not least, Dr. Rami Sarkis, District Chair of the Medical and Wellness Group, recapitulated “Building Hope Within: Mental Health in the Arab Region conference”, which was held at Geitaoui Hospital, under the patronage & participation of the Rotary International President, Dr. Gordon McInally & District Governor Bashar Haddad.
More than 80 Rotarians attended this inspiring session from the 9 countries of District 2452.
