The current crisis we are facing and the increasing poverty level in Lebanon encouraged our club to initiate the “Mouneh Boxes” project, in collaboration with the Lebanese Food Bank; we are packing boxes, each supply food for a family of 4 persons for a duration of 20 days.

Rotary Club Beirut Cedars was able to supply in rounds I & II; 328 boxes to feed 1,312 persons; we are preparing now for round 3 with so far funds raised for 683 boxes.
Our target is 100.000 families. We are considering repeating this action several times during this Rotary year, as we feel the positive impact of what we are doing on the community we live in.

What started as a one line collaboration between 2 entities is now growing and engaging numerous parties from Rotary Clubs, Local and International NGOs, Councils, Inter-Country Committees... and Lebanese living abroad have pitched in to help too, by conducting fundraising activities to raise the needed funds to allocate more food to more families in need.
